If you are concerned about your business slowing down then you are going to want to take action to make sure that you still have jobs coming in.
You need to go to where your customers are and get in front of them.
This post covers 6 ways to help generate leads for your business. Oh, and they don’t cost anything either.
1. Google Business Profile (Maps Listing)
Firstly, this assumes that you’ve already set up your Google Business Profile on Google Maps.
If you haven’t, do it. Now.
Then, start posting and updating your Google Business Profile on a regular basis. That pretty much means weekly.
What do you do? You post an update every week that features at least one photo or short video and write a few things about what you did or what your post is about.
Remember to always put the location (city and/or neighborhood along with the service performed (tile shower, tile floor, fireplace, etc)
This shows Google that you take your posting seriously and they may decide to feature your listing in front of your competitor, Mr. Never Posts Anything.
2. NextDoor
NextDoor is literally your neighbors. They are hanging out on this app and wondering who is driving the loud cars and if anyone has seen where Fluffy wandered off to.
Literally, one of the most common requests is for people to work on their homes. Painters, drywallers, and, yes, tile contractors.
Hang out in the group and play it cool. DO NOT SELL. Do not look desperate. Just be helpful.
3. Facebook Local Community Groups
Facebook local groups are similar but you can usually join groups in areas where you work but don’t live locally.
This is great for more upscale neighborhoods.
The same rules apply as with NextDoor. Be helpful, be pleasant, and be active. Don’t spam and don’t sell.
4. Facebook Local Tile Contractor Group(s)
This may seem counterintuitive but if you need to fill spots in your schedule one of the best places to network is with other local contractors.
Other contractors may need some temporary help and are looking for someone they can pass some work to.
Don’t just ask “Does anyone have any work?” Post your experience, the kind of jobs you do, some photos of the process, and contribute to the group.
They’ve worked hard for these leads. They need to get to know you and feel comfortable with you.
This is a totally underrated way to fill holes in your schedule.
5. Local Industry Events
Start signing up for every email list of local tile stores, warehouses, vendors, etc. that you can find.
Start following the social media accounts of all of these companies as well.
Why? Because you want to learn where and when every industry event is being held.
Then, attend them.
Do you know who attends these events? Other tile contractors, general contractors, designers, and industry insiders.
You are going to get there early and stay late and meet the people there. These people know where the work is and they can help you out.
Also, don’t sell. Just play it cool.
6. Hustle/Coldcall
Do you know that house they’re building that you drive by daily? Stop in.
Have some business cards with you. Watch for the company truck to be outside.
Introduce yourself. Be pleasant. Don’t be pushy.
The most significant personal gains can be made by taking this action. Most don’t have the balls to do it.
Do you?

Great advice. I’d add to put teaser posts on social media, GMB, etc., that link back to your website. Why? Because it will improve SERPs ranking and conversion.
