A bunch of idiots thought it was a good idea to drive their heavy machinery into the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hagia Sophia, located in Istanbul, Turkey.
In doing so, they cracked the marble floors that were installed in circa 535 AD when it was built by Eastern Roman Emperor Justinian I in (then) Constantinople.
This site was originally a Christian Cathedral, then converted to a mosque in 1453, then a museum in 1935 before turning back into a mosque in 2020.
