An old building once owned by Kodak, the film and camera company, was being renovated in Rochester, New York.
But tearing down an ordinary wall revealed a surprise! An old tile mosaic mural from when the building was built in the early ’60s.
However, employees that worked at this building for 40+ years had never seen this artwork. Further, what did this mural mean?
A change of plans
The new owners of the building had plans to open up that wall but changed their minds once the mosaic was revealed.
Further, although nobody knows the artist or designer, it’s speculated that the old masons were the installers of the tile art and installed it when constructing the building.
It’s an impressive bit of artistry no matter who made it. I know there are those that will complain about sheet lines which prove there’s no hope for some of you.
