Have you ever wondered how durable your tile is? Well, someone else wondered about this long before you did. Plus, they decided to do something about it!
Enter the Robinson floor tester
This machine is a way of comparing floor tiles in an apples-to-apples-type situation. If you’re in charge of ordering floor tile for the local shopping mall, this test matters- a lot.
It starts by running rubber wheels with increasing weights in circles over a floor then switches to steel wheels with increasing weights.
We imagine it feels similar to that chiropractor that tried out a few years ago.
This hunk of steel and bolts is still used to this day to test both tile and installation products.
