A bathroom remodeling startup in San Francisco just raised $23 million dollars.*
Actress Jessica Alba contacted the company about renovating one of her bathrooms. She liked what she heard so much that she invested in the company.
A lot of us have renovation companies. So, what’s so special about this one?
The next big thing is here
The company is called Made Renovation and it wasn’t created by contractors.
Rather, a couple of tech geeks got together and figured out a way to streamline the process.
With not even two years of business under their belts, they’ve become the 7th largest residential renovation company in the United States.
Their Secret is…
It’s all in the technology and the process. This is how it works:
- You select one of over 40 preselected designs
- or, a custom design with an in-house designer
- fixtures and other materials are purchased in bulk
- they apply for permits
- they hire a contractor
- and are in communication until the project is complete
They specialize in bathrooms for the time being presumably because the design and shapes are oftentimes standardized. I mean, who doesn’t have a 5×7-12 bathroom with vanity and toilet on one side and tub at the end in their home?
They are currently in the Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle markets. Would you think about building a bathroom for them?
